Maximum size is 3-4ft in a garden pond due to the hybridisation of the Sterlet and Huso Huso (beluga).
The lifespan of Sterlet hybrid is approximately 25 years.
 
A popular cold water species. Predominantly freshwater but do like brackish rivers that run into coastal waters. Very fast growing with a passive nature makes them excellent company for other garden pond fish such as koi carp and orfe. Firstly bred for Caviar production these have become known as a miniature and more manageable "Beluga" that can be accommodated very well in most humble garden ponds.
Sturgeon are generally on the move all the time. They are migratory fish that love to swim vast distances. This will become apparent once you see them patrol the perimeter of your pond only stopping to feed. They are an extremely rare addition to have in your pond collection.
