Pellet Size and Length of Sturgeon & Sterlet.
1.5mm pellet 4-6 inch (mainly sterlet)
2-3mm pellet for 6-14 inch
3-6mm pellet for 14-20 inch
6-8mm pellet for 20-30 inch and so on.
 
Mouth Size.
Sterlet and some sturgeon have smaller throat size compared to their mouths. We suggest you half the width of their mouth and purchase that size pellet food.
For example a 10mm width mouth requires upto a 5mm pellet. This allows them to swallow the pellets whole without any problems.
 
Sturgeon feed throughout the year, even in winter although they could reduce their intake amount. Give them the opportunity to feed as some sturgeon will eat in temperatures right down to -11c.
The food should be meat based protein. They can not digest plant proteins to a point where it gives them any nutritional value. Feed Sturgeon everyday throughout the year and feed atleast twice every day.  The amount should be a minimum of 0.3% of their body weight. Sturgeon prefer to be fed often with small amounts. After dusk is when a sturgeon is most actively searching for food and therefore a good time to feed them.
