White Sturgeon (Acipenser Transmontanus)
White Sturgeon Latin name Acipenser Transmontanus
Maximum size is 6 meters long.
The lifespan of the White is approximately 100+ years.
White sturgeon are native to large rivers and estuaries of America that lead into the Pacific Ocean. Extremely large compared with all other sturgeon. White Sturgeon has a placid nature considering their size with a downward facing mouth so that are unable to chase and catch fish, and like other sturgeon benthic feeders and search for prey on the bottom.
A popular cold water species. Predominantly freshwater but do like brackish rivers that run into coastal waters. Very fast growing with a passive nature makes them excellent company for other garden pond fish such as koi carp and orfe.
